This is a practice-based course that involves the use of ArchiCAD to develop an architectural floor plan. We will be working on a real project which is a section of a three-bedroomed apartment block. Every video lesson is a set of step-by-step instructions building upon the previous one, taught in a simple and easy to follow approach.

Course Overview

ArchiCAD 25 is the latest version released by Graphisoft at the time of creating this course. It is a premier BIM (Building Information Modelling) software that allows you to create intelligent building models with construction information linked to it.

So, if you are looking into understanding 2D modelling using the latest BIM software, this class is for you. We will be working on a practical project as we discuss the various skills, tips and tricks for developing an elegant architectural floor plan.

This will cover project creation, basic working and dimensioning unit’s set-up, project location settings and site + client details customization, construction grid drafting, wall modelling, door and window settings, use of annotations and texts for room tags, interior furniture layout, dimensioning the floor plan and saving it as a shareable PDF file.

Methodology

I designed this course with the complete beginner in mind. The lessons feature step-by-step tutorials taught at a slow pace to make it easy to follow along and understand. In addition to that is a reference pack found in the resources section that will help you to work alongside the teacher as you develop your drawings.
